Free zone features
DMCC is located in the heart of Dubai, in the middle of the Jumeirah Lakes Towers district, in close proximity to two airports and the port of Jabal Ali.

It is worth noting the high status and prestige of this free zone, which is also reflected in the cost of company opening there.

Types of licence
The DMCC offers the following types of license:
  1. Trade license (separately there is a general trade license).
  2. Service license.
  3. Industrial license.
Free zone provides other types of structures as well, such as the family office — centralized management of the family fortune and personal affairs in the family business.

Up to six activities can be included in the standard annual license fee within each type of license (commercial, service or industrial).

Types of companies
The following types of companies can be registered in this free zone:

  1. Limited Liability Companies: 1−50 shareholders.
  2. Branch of a company in the UAE.
  3. Branch of a foreign company.
What are the share capital requirements?
The minimum share capital of a company in the DMCC Free Economic Zone is 50,000 AED (about USD 13,600).

A company must have a share capital of at least AED 1,000,000 (approximately USD 272,000) to obtain a General Trading license.

The share capital must be paid into the company’s bank account in the UAE within three weeks of the issuance of the company license. It can subsequently be withdrawn at any time.

Document package
The following will be needed to register a company with the DMCC:
  • Online application for pre-approval.
  • Copy of passport, along with a UAE resident visa and copy of UAE identity card (if available).
  • Proof of address in the country of residence. For example, a utility receipt or invoice.
  • Copies of the parent company documents (required when setting up a subsidiary company).
  • Consent from certain government agencies for regulated activities.
  • Address details of the company in the DMCC (required once the company is registered).
