Dubai Silicon Oasis is located 30 minutes from Jebel Ali Port and Rashid Port next to Dubai Al Ain Roads. The free zone is home to the so-called Dubai Digital Park, a smart city spread over 150,000 square metres and consisting of office buildings, apartments, numerous cafés and restaurants with a developed infrastructure for work and life.

Free zone specialises in attracting high-tech companies, promoting modern industries, innovation, development and research in these fields, so it positions itself as a high-tech park, a silicon valley. Companies from the fields of IT, GameDev, telecom, engineering and others are usually registered in this freezone.

What types of licenses are available?
Companies wishing to set up operations in the DSO can choose from three types of license:
Service license: provision of the services specified in the license.
Trade license: the import, export and sale of goods specified in the license.
Industrial license: import of raw materials, production, processing, collection, packaging and export of finished goods.

The following types of companies are allowed to be registered in this freezone:
Free Zone Establishment (FZE) — a company with one shareholder.
Free Zone Company (FZC) — a company with 2 or more shareholders.
A branch of a company already incorporated in the UAE. The activities that the branch plans to carry on in the DSO must be identical to those of the parent company.
Branch of a foreign company. The activities of the branch it plans to carry out in the DSO must be identical to those carried out by the parent company.
What are the share capital requirements?
Capital requirement for FZE/FZCO: AED 100,000 (approximately USD 27,000). There is no minimum capital requirement for setting up a branch.
